As above really, off to look at a 2000 1.0 Sirion+ with 120,000 miles on it later today and after advice on what to look out for. Its for my g/f so will be doing 6 mile journeys to and from work with the occaisional drive up to Lincoln (about 150miles). What are the problem areas to check out?

Headlight lense plastic can go very misty (could fail MOT if bad)
But Unless its very very cheap i would look for another, You can find them newer with much lower mileage quite easily and still cheap.

Its fairly cheap, £350. There isn't much in the area (Swindon, same as you) in her budget though, shes got less than £500 and it needs to be smaller than 1549cc with a long MOT and what there is has normally gone by time we find it and ring up.
Anyway, hopefully it won't hurt just to view it!

Oh yes definately rust. Just come back form the garage having my rusty sills rebuilt, and it was close to the price of the car you are buying to have them done
If it's an auto check the ATF as well, as it should have been changed every 6 years.
