Hi Mark. Sorry to read this
Hi Mark. Sorry to read this has happened to you
As you are aware the YRV Turbo outer body parts are the same as any YRV model. But because you will want new parts you maybe lucky, but it depends if they cost more than the car
If the insurance comapny do write it off, why don't you buy the car back and give Daihatsu Dave a shout, as you know he has a scrapper sat in his drive, although silver, you could get parts off him and get them sprayed yellow
Hope you get this sorted

Cheers jon,car is going in on wednesday but there is one problem!!!! seems that the impact has pushed the car forward by 5 to 10mm as the doors are now not sitting right, passenger side rubbing rear wing and drivers side not closing right.Just hope they see the car is mint and worth saving and not just right it off,i would be gutted if that happend
I`ll keep in touch and let you know what happens mate..
Well I hope it goes well for

cant believe it,they have
Hi Mark, Sorry to read this.
Hi Mark,
Sorry to read this. But I did think after you mentioned the doors wern't straight that it could be a write off
I'm with Bob. I think your options are:
1).. Keep the car and if you have the funds get it fixed yourself. But the car will forever be marked as a Cat 'C' on the V5
But at least you still have the car
And give Daihatsu Dave a shout out to see what he can provide you
2).. Take the value of the scrapped car and if you can buy yourself another YRV Turbo. As Bob said there are 2 on Autotrader. 1 of them is very similar to the one you bought in yellow without the decals on the side and front, and has only 21K on the Clock!!!!
3).. As per suggestion 2, but buy back your original, use that for either spare parts and buy another at the sametime.
Hope you get yourself sorted?
Jon.

Red ones look nice.
Sorry to hear, I was 95% that it would be written off. One of the problems of Daihatsu ownership is insurance, Even 4-5 year old cars are written off due to the depreciation and the cost of parts.
They may only want to pay out
They may only want to pay out 1200-1500.
If you can, It's probably worth keeping car, and striping it for parts to sell on ebay. Prob get 400-600 just for engine on its own. £300 for gearbox etc.
Depends if have the time and space to store it all.
The red one on e-baywould be
The red one on e-baywould be cool. The buy it now price is £1500! Bargain. Would be nice to see a red Yrv turbo at the next meet

Really look nice in Red!
Really look nice in Red! Surprised they didn't sell more in that colour
Real bad news
Mark, greatest sympathies. Every time I look at my YRV I fall in love again - and it's just a YRV Premium.
Having seen your Turbo I can imagine how you feel....from jewel to scrap in an instant, like losing your best friend.
I just hope you get a valuation that allows you to replace the car with something similar that won't disappoint you.

Shame... Unfortunatly if any
Shame...
Unfortunatly if any Daihatsu of this age needs to be jigged or pulled out then it's almost certainly a write off.
