Now my second problem :
Today i went to see the car i am thnking of buying, a 97 sportrax limited with 85000 miles on the clock and not km.
Question : when i put it into 4 wheel drive it feels like its pulling on side, ie : like only one front wheel locking only, is this right if not any idea on problem and cost of sorting it out ???
second while driving in 2 wheel drive it feels to have a mind of its own on the steering, sort of feels like it swaying on the front end sort of tram tracking, maybe this could be what it should be like and it could be me as i drive a MGZR and its tight on the steering, just feels very strange.
Lastly what is a fare price to offer on this car 
it has no history and 14 owners, all be it 9 owners were from the same family !
has had new clutch, cambelt and water pump changed and rear leaf springs changed along with a service 10,ooo ago, also has a big score down one side but not lifted the paint.
All help would be most appreciated on this.

Avoid dodgy steering
The problem you've described is unlikely to be as a result of only 'one wheel locking' if one doesn't lock then the power will be taken away from the other wheel as well. Secondly as the problem occurs in 2 wheel drive also it is more likely to be something to do with the steering.
I'm sorry I can't offer a better diagnosis buy I'm sure someone else will be along shortly who can, although my advice would be to avoid a car with steering problems! Sounds like it could have had a hard life. With no service history it's not out of the question that it's gone round the clock and done 185,000 miles!

that is alot of owners since 1997, maybe something went wrong with it, who knows, did the brakes get hot whilst driving? sticky caliper making it pull??, tracking out?? tyres ok?? steering joints?? a test drive in a car will soon tell you if its worth it or not, if its pulling one side then drop the price, see what they say about 4-500 quid, imo its had alot of different driving styles at the wheel so its had abuse really.
Full of ideas but no time to do them!!
