I am new to the forum, this is a great a forum I’ve already had a quick read.

I don’t currently have a Daihatsu. I am looking to buy a Fourtrak hopefully as soon as possible but I am actually going to view on Saturday if it doesn’t sell before then.

I’ve searched the forum and can’t find the answers I am looking for so I thought I would post a new topic.

Basically I am looking to purchase a Fourtrak for some light-medium off-roading. This is purely recreational.

My questions are as follows:

1) What are the common faults on the Fourtrak?
2) Once going to view the Fourtrak in particular does anyone have a step by step guide on what to look for?
3) What do I need to look out for i.e. other issues, rust issues, cheap fixes etc?
4) For light off-roading what are the tyre requirements? Wheel sizes? And what kind of off road tyres will fit?
5) What other preparations would I need to do to get the car ready for off-roading i.e. remove sills, snorkel etc?

I know this might sound stupid but I am trying to do this on a budget.
