Fourtrak shaking/vibrating at tickover

Forum:

Just recently my Fourtrak (2002 F73) seems to shake/vibrate far more than it used to when idling. The problem seems a little worse when it is warm. Engine always starts first time and runs/sounds really smooth, so I'm assuming the problem is worn engine mountings which are allowing the engine to bounce around. I've had a look at the mountings with the engine running and they do seem to move quite a lot.
Does that sound like the right conclusion?
Anyone know where best to get new engine mountings and are they difficult to fit? Are there likely to be any other mountings that might be worn out?
Thanks for any help/advice.

id check the gearbox mounts

id check the gearbox mounts before the engine ones.

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

Thanks for the advice - never thought about the gearbox mounts. How do I check them and how do I know if they are knackered? Are they an easy repair?
Thanks again.

look at the tbox mount, its well known for being broken and then given vibes, its n the drivers side and if its broke you will soon tell just by looking at it.
if that one is fine then you need to look at the other mounts to see if any of them are broke

Second the issue with the

Second the issue with the gearbox mount, but it could be many things, a worn injector, fuel pump, low compression on one cylinder, tappet clearances incorrect, head gasket, damaged piston rings, or a whole host of possibilities.

Thanks for the advice. Doubt

Thanks for the advice.
Doubt it's anything inside the engine. I've just serviced it, including setting the tappets. Head gasket is fine, and it runs and sounds very smooth aside from the idling. The engine seems to be in good condition generally, plus it's only done 60k miles so presumably should be pretty good.
I'll check the gearbox mounts.

The gearbox and transfer box

The gearbox and transfer box mounts are clearly both knackered. Both on order from Milners.
Any useful hints/tips for doing the job? I presume there is enough room and movement in the prop shafts etc that the box can just be jacked up and the mounts changed. Is that right?
Thanks for all the help/advice.

yea they have enough movment

yea they have enough movment in the props to change them, well that is if milners send you the right t box mount

Thanks for the advice. I did

Thanks for the advice.
I did see some comments somewhere about how they keep sending out Landrover parts for the tbox mount. Hope they've sorted that now.
Fingers crossed.

Sure enough they've sent the wrong tbox mount. Weren't very helpful about it and say that it's the only part they have and that it's only ever happened once before!
Bit stuck now. Will try Daihatsu main dealer...

yer happened to me too,

yer happened to me too, basically....thats all they have got, but what you can doo is drill the whole centre out of original and just use a long nut n bolt...job done.
