Forum:
have had a few probs with the Terios (2008);
For a few months she has occassionally, when driving at 60-70mph,just dropped to about 2000 rpm with no power. The only thing to do is pull over, turn off,wait 2 mins and all is fine. Local mechanic could find no faults or explanation.
Last week had a ride home on back of abig truck! Suddenly, about 2000rpm max, little or now power,rough but fast idle...MIL on.
I finally managed to borrow a OBD2 scanner and get the following codes;
0505 Idle Control System malfunction
01/04 MAF/or VAF A circ.intermittent
02/04 Injector circuit open cyl.4
03/04 cyl.4 misfire detected
04/04 EGR flow CKT range/performance
I have taken off everything that can be taken off and cleaned to no avail.
Could it be that 01/04 is cause of all this? Car does not hve a MAF, it has a MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor)
Anyone got any ideas?????? pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease
Right, where to begin. MAP
Right, where to begin.
MAP won't affect anything else here, its usually an air leak or the sensor screwed.
Inj open curcuit is either a wiring fault, dirty connector, or screwed injector in No4, if this is problematic it will misfire and cause fault Misfire detected fault,this in turn will affect the EGR flow by putting it out of its working range, thus another fault code.
Swap the MAP sensor from someone with the same vehicle, if theirs gets the same problems and it cures yours, fault found.
Swap No4 and NO1 injectors round, if it throws the fault uo on No1 Injector, an injector problem.
If it still throws up a problem on No4 and not No1 its a wiring fault, not operating the injector properly.
Take a reading with diagnostics tool after every change.
