swivel hubs on F75

Forum:

Just a new member with an old head ( 58 years it's been on my shoulders).
Just bought a nice clean Fourtrak F75 and giving it the once over. It's got to be better than these Series Land Rovers that I used to drive...Can anyone advise what to put in the front hubs, ( grease or oil) and what grade..I cant see a level plug anywhere but I can see what might be filler plug (24mm) and having had a look inside there is what looks like green/yellow snot. any advice gratefully received.. Thanks in advance

Lithium grease or waterproof

Lithium grease or waterproof marine grease is the recommended product for filling them, but many make the mistake of using oil, particularly former LR owners.

swivel hubs

Thanks for thre reply.
Lithium grease I have , waterproof marine grease I have not. Would Lithium mix if I added waterproof grease thats assuming that it's lithium thats in there at the moment.. Being a former L/Rover owner I do have some of the one shot hub grease, dare I put that in.. There is some in there at the moment , how much I don't know, is there a fill level or correct ammount to use or just fill up to the hole.I'm guessing 500ml would probably be about the max so maybe start off with 250ml and see if it goes in.

that'll doo the job, if you

that'll doo the job, if you have proper working front auto/manual freewheeling hubs fitted then unless you use 4wd nothing particular spins or gets used inside that hub part ever.

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

Yes, most forms of grease

Yes, most forms of grease will mix as grease is nothing more than a fine powder base with thick oil added to it, the lithium is actually contained in the white powder used in the base.
