Forum:
Over here in NZ, we have a watered down MOT that we have to perform every 6-months called a Warrant of Fitness (WOF). It's designed as a periodic safety inspection to cover simple items such as tyres, brakes, steering, suspension etc. It costs anywhere from $30-$50 NZD, so about half the price of an MOT in the UK, so twice a year at half the price seems fair enough to me.
Just got back from a fail though... The mechanic said that the power steering belt is showing signs of decay. Fair enough think I, and go back and get on the blower to the two usual parts suppliers out here.
One parts supplier quotes a drive belt at $50, the other quotes 3 x separate belts (AC, PS & Alt) starting at $20... I was under the impression that the Rally IV had a solitary drive belt? Can anyone confirm so I don't have to go out in the rain and check?
And yes, it rains here in Auckland. More than London in fact...
Where's Bob this morning?
There is only one belt. This type is made by many manufacturers, most of excellent quality. If you have the length of the belt - usually printed on it somewhere, you can take your pick of belt manufacturer and price.

Thanks for the confirmation chaps, the link to the diagram shows something that for the sake of $100 at the local garage (about £50 all in), do I even bother trying? Lazy yes, but I'm only a hobbyist 'mechanic', and looking at the diagram, I'm just forward projecting pain and suffering. Considering the belt's about $50 for me to buy here, I think I could do without the suffering...
