I have a 99 Terios that seems to be running very rich and down on power.
Does anyone know of any problems that can cause these symptoms?
Thanks

I take you must have an ECU
I take you must have an ECU error code then that must be part of the issue as per your first post?
It could be one of the following:
A).. MAP and TPS sensor issue
B).. One or both of your O2/Lambda sensors
You need a code reader to See if the ECU is throwing up an error or error codes first

Yeah I think I need a code reader I was just wondering if someone knew of something that was maybe common.
Thanks for the reply
Will update when I have some more info!
Well A little update I have
Well A little update I have tried several code readers now on the car and none will connect to the ecu which is hampering further diagnosis.
Also the car seems to be consuming alot of oil.
Im thinking its perhaps best off being broken for spares now. Is there much demand for terios spares?
Thanks
I have managed to dig up a
I have managed to dig up a little history thanks to the mot history check online
It had an advisory in 2010 about burning oil
advisory in 2011 about only just passing the emission test
a fail this year for excessive blue smoke then a pass but only just 5 miles later.
Im guessing I need to do a compression test now?
Doesnt help with the lack of communication with the ecu though.

No code will show if it is an internal mechanical problem> Usual suspects for burning oil are:
Bore wear, piston ring wear, piston rings stuck in the pistons, worn valve guides, worn valve stem oil seals, or scratched pistons.
