Forum:
Can anyone advise the number of handbrake "clicks" that should be maximum on Sirion 2005 (2nd generation). I pick up my daughters first car on Friday and know how to test most things but the test drive indicated worn brake pads and the handbrake had 7 clicks - which to me seemed excessive. I've looked around for a Haynes manual and it seems such a thing doesn't exist so I'd like to be sure of my facts to argue with the dealer if necessary if the brakes still have a lot of travel - I'll be doing another test drive anyway to check the steering doesn't "clonk" anymore. As ny daughter is paying top book price, Im expecting a top book condition car and worn brakes are not a top book condition in my opinion.

on my YRV Turbo it's around 3 clicks on my handbrake. Have also read about some sirions with the clonking steering rack as well. Not sure what the fix is.
good luck with your purchase.
As for a Haynes manual, they do not exist for any of the Daihatsu range as far as I know. You can get technical manuals for the Daihatsu range, but they are normally mechanic dealership copies. I would send BobF a Private Message to see if he has one going spare
