DIY, It's a messy job but not worth paying to someone who will probably not spend enough time on it. At least if you DIY you will know what's been done.

Although unless it is bone dry underneath, Then it's almost a waste of time as it could just trap moisture.

Dinitrol?

Dinitol is good stuff but overpriced. Would need many cans to get full coverage on a underside.

You want a brush on product, Hammerite Underbody seal with added waxoyl is what I would use, never dries fully, stays slightly tacky.

Buy a pack of super cheapo brushes that you can just throw away after one use.

You can if you wish go over the top with normal hammerite so it dries and gives a hard finish.

Well it dries eventually...after a week or so.

If you can lay hands on a compressor and shultz gun it makes this job ten times easier and faster, there are some places that you can't really get without a gun either. Clean everywhere as much as possible as any dirt will help the waxoyl flake off later. I did my Sportrak last winter using a borrowed compressor. Normally after I pressure wash the underside I touch up with a brush where any has come off. Overall I would definitely recommend doing it and going DIY, £30 for 5 liters of the stuff couldn't be better spent in my opinion.

underbody seal with waxoyl

.... dead easy, you can spray it with a blowgun provide you dilute the stuff with white spirit.

If you're feeling brave, you can dilute it with petrol, but for gawd's sake spray it outside with the compressor in the shed.

All it needs is a good crackle and spark from the compressor switch in a petrol vapour environment to make you no longer have to worry ever again about rust under your vehicle ! .... you might have to worry about keeping your heavenly harp in tune though.

Also spray it while wearing a good respirator. I had a whiff of the stuff and was coughing for a week !

My Fourtrak was waxoyled long before I bought it. Perhaps I'm lucky, but when I take it in for its annual service & MOT, the garage resprays where needed with Waxoyl professional, and only charges a nominal amount, plus the materials!
