4x4 Light not working in LOW range...

Forum:

Hi All,

As title says, no light on the dash when low 4x4 engaged on my F78. Now I'm making the assumption that the 4wd is still working as it's a mechanical method of engagement (haven't had a chance to check properly, but it felt like it the other day). So my question is...where is the switch based to activate the light? on the lever? Trans box?

Cheers!

which transfer box do you

which transfer box do you have? fully mechanical for h4 and low4 with no silly vacuum switches n solonoids or the one with h4 switch on dash and silly electric solonoids n vacuum hoses etc Biggrin

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

If you go under the drivers

If you go under the drivers side of the vehicle you will see the front face of the transfer box, in this is the engagement mechanism for 4L behind a round plate, in the centre of this plate is a switch, unscrew it and test with a multimeter, all the switches are the same so you can swap with another switch to confirm its the switch. If the switch is fine then it is most likely the wiring.
