My K-reg 1993 Sportrak ELXi is making some unusual noises from under the hood.My garage believes the 'high pitch whine' is the; power steering idler belt PULLEY.
Does anyone know where to get this pulley? At a reasonable price?
What is the pulley actual called? Have I got the proper name?

High pitched whine could be the alternator, Try unpluging the alternator connector on the back.
Don't umplug the alternator
Don't umplug the alternator plug as you will blow it.
Disconnect all the drive belts and start the engine and run for a few seconds only and see if the noise disappears, if not you can discount the drive belts and refit them.
If the noise disappears then refit the belts one at a time and run again for a few seconds and see if it reappears, and this will tell you which belt it is causing the noise.
Spin averything driven with the belts off such as the alternator and water pump, and obviously the pulleys and check for wear and lift, this should identify it.
