Forum:
Just blown another head gasket on my TD. Anybody ever found a solution to this reoccurring issue? Bigger Rad maybe help? I think it might as the JDM version has a larger rad (presumably for the hotter weather over there) but I am yet to find a JDM TD that has blown a gasket.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Which version Charade?
Which version Charade?
Better gasket mult-layer steel maybe. . . .speak to Nathan (pocketrocket) he has a contact who makes these and could probably supply, although they are not cheap.
Bigger cored existing rad or a larger from another version maybe help slightly but matched with a better fan too.

G101 Turbo Diesel
Aye, have talked to him before about it
He also suggests studs but the head bolts have a higher torque rating than the studs do. Also I got a couple MLS gaskets custom made myself a few months ago. I need to get the block skimmed for it to seal properly which means takin the engine out. The gasket that just blew after 2 wks was a composite so going to just bite the bullet and take the engine out for getting the block skimmed.
The JDM Turbo Diesel has a bigger Rad as standard so might just get one and the accompanying fan as I know where to get my hands on one.
Thanks for the suggestions Dave
