Sirion poor cold starting

Forum:

I have a 2000 Sirion F-Speed which has run faultless for the past six years when I purchased it. Occasionally the engine light came on and after having the car checked on diagnostics it came back with two fault codes for the pre-cat oxygen sensor.
The car drove and started perfectly however and the light would go out. Twelve months later the same problem has happened again and now when you try to start the car from cold if it fires it goes into limp mode for about 20 secs and runs ok. When warm it runs and starts perfect every time.
Have replaced the sensor which has made no difference whatsover. Any one had a similiar problem?
Thanks

I take it you also cleared

I take it you also cleared the code on the ECU after replacing the sensor? If not the ECU may still think there is a problem.
Also worth an ECU reset if the above has been done by disconnecting the battery for an hour and reconnecting.

Sirion poor cold starting

Yes i have cleared the original fault codes with a diagnostic tool but the same codes return if the light comes back on.
