Fourtrak - no boost/power lots of white smoke

Hi chaps,

I've got 1994 2.8 tdx fourtrak.

Driving it yesterday the car lost lots of power, all boost pressure and was emitting a fog of white smoke.

I initially thought the turbo had packed up, but on investigation, a small hose underneath the turbo,towards the bulkhead wasn't connected, now I've looked and looked but I can't for the life of me find out where the hose has come off from?

Could this little hose be the source of the problems? Or does the problem sound more terminal?

best way is to try n put up a photo of the hose, sure its not a breather pipe??
you gotta be really specific about the colour of the smoke, if it is definitely white, it could be injectors or cam belt slippage throwing out the timing, not necessarily turbo, if its grey/black thats more like to be turbo as its letting oil through.

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

Oh No!

Ended up taking the car to the local garage.

They've diagnosed a nackard fuel pump. and quoted me £500 to replace the pump.

it seems a bit steep, and im now considering selling it spares or repair, even though i've just spent £300 putting it through the MOT!

Any idea's if i could get it done cheaper anywhere? how much can i get hold of a fuel pump for?

poor thing is sat looking very sorry for it's self!
