Forum:
Bought this F70the other week its latest in a succession of these cars,
(I quite like them)
this one was a trade in and probably as it had accumulated a few problems the owner decided to buy something newer.
Amongst the little problems it turned up:
o/s/f half shaft oil leak
coolant blockage,
but the one that needs fixing to make it right is a leak in front of o/s/r wheel.( poor starting too, although this may be unrelated,
sellers garage has attempted three repairs to this section of flexible pipe that we know of of.
each looked OK and dry on tickover and waiting to be be collected, but a drive home means fuel dropping on street outside,
any ideas please
Henry
Above that wheel in the body
Above that wheel in the body you'll have fuel pipes go up to a vapour release system, that may need stripping/cleaning if thats where the fuel is coming from, or youve got the outlet/inlet nozzles on the tank there that side and the pipes running on the chassis, piece of piddle to fix it all, just use rubber pipe n feed it along!?!?! so why did it need 3 attempts from a garage??, is it coming from the filler neck? rusted hole splashing out as you drive? if its a poor starter could be the fuel filter one way valve in the housing playing up, other bits n bobs aint exactly what I'd call...a problem
Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

Condition of car overall is excellent so we bought it.
but sellers garage (who he trusts of course) seem a bit untogether on this one.
One of those jobs that looks OK on completion but customers keeps seeing fuel on road so it keeps coming back, this afternoon for example I just looked beneath it to find its not dripped at all,
Still its back in on Tuesday and I'll mention your suggestions see if they can mange it this time
while I'm here, is this 'riviera' F70 a common one?
I'd not come across wooden trim in a fourtrack before.
