Forum:
Bought a very low mileage 1L Charade for my Daughter to learn to drive on and as a local run around. It is so handy however that the new Skoda Estate only gets used for long runs.
One issue - lambda sensor went and was replaced but fuel consumption stuck in the high 40's. What can I do?
high 40's not too bad for town driving
i have a 2003 charade 1.0 EL. i get an average of 49mpg for town driving. thats on very short runs. however, when i "beast" it on the motorway i get closer to 60mpg if lucky, 55mpg average. got 59mpg doing 100mph (110mph speedo, 100mph sat nav) on the autobahn. awesome little cars they are!! in my experience, they do need a good run now and then otherwise they get a bit clogged up!
what do other 1.0 charade drivers get mpg-wise?
Over 60mpg for me ;-)
I have a 2005 Charade 1.0EL, with average over 60mpg (60-64) depending on weeks. Although i travel long distances on motorways daily, 30miles one way to work, (60-70 mph speeds, no excessive acceletaion and breaks). When work commuting is mixed with random drives around the town, it still is on the plusside of 60MPG for me. I agree, they are awesome little cars!!!
