Engine swap

Hi all, I have a 1989 fourtrack pick up the model is F77 rocky. It has a 2.8 deisel. I have been offered a 2.8td engine which i would like to put in. will it be as easy as just swapping the engines over. any help or advice greatly appreciated. Thanks. Ant

If it's not an intercooled engin, the only diffrence to the bits you bolt up to the engin will be the exhust and the air intake. These will be diffrant shapes. Everything else will line up. If it is an intercooled engin (lucky you) then it's just a mater of the exhaust, intake and fitting the intercooler in.

Agreed, everything bolts straight up. You should even be able to make the air intake fit. Then drive it to an exhaust place to get the exhaust modified. They sound really fantastic with exhaust straight out of the turbo. The turbo whistle is amazing. Makes everyone look for the truck. I did this after I fitted a later TD motor to my 85 F75, which I then added an intercooler to. Easy job.
