Our Rocky has three suspension settings, but do they work ?

Forum:

My daughter has a H reg Rocky, i went for my first ride in it yesterday !!!!, and i was a little dissapointed in the very Choppy ride, I know it is a short wheel base and the local roads arent very good.

It does have a switch that gives threee different settings, but how do we find out if this switch actually does anything ?.

For a DIY person like me, how easy is it for me to do a few simple tests to check to see/hear if this switch actually works, i guess it must be connected to the shock adsorbers or similar, at least i assume it has some shock absorbers, .

The 3 way shocks, with the switch down beside the handbrake, didnt work very well from new. Most people disconnected them and changed shocks at the first opportunity. Apparently replacement OEM shocks cost an arm and a leg as well.

Timmy,

I had a 1991 H reg that the button worked well, if you put her soft and drove around you noticed a definate sway when going around corner compared the to the middle setting. I never found much difference between med and hard, even when towing.

However, I did have a 1990 machine that did not make one ounce of difference what pos she was in, it was connected.....

did you ever sort out the oil leak from the front axle? I'm down your way tomorrow, but V.early, I fly out of Luton @ 8.15am...
