SIRION RALLY 4

Forum:

Can any body tell me, on Daihatsu Sirion Rally 4 (4WD) how is the power split between the front and rear wheels?
Is it 50/50, 40/60 ect.
Can the power be altered between the front and rear wheels like on the Avanzato?

i would of said 50/50? i didn

i would of said 50/50? i didnt know you could change it on the zato? i think thats fixed as well Smile

An Avanzato owner I met last

An Avanzato owner I met last year at Santa Pod Race Way told me that the power could be split from 50/50, 60/40, and I think 40/60.

His car was a U.K. model.
I presumed the car was fitted with a variable centre diff?

Maybe he was mistaken.

Thanks for your help.

Thank you so much for explain

Thank you so much for explaining it, thats what he must of meant!
When the car is in 2WD is the drive to the front or rear wheels?

The owner did claim you could

The owner did claim you could split the drive on the Avanzato but he had not tried it, yet.

It was a Daihatsu dealer who had told him this.

I know that dealers can be very wrong sometimes!

avanzato

Hi everybody I have an avanzato, yes you can press in the transfer diff to two wheel drive. Its very simple and easy to do,then the drive goes to front wheels only.

At a guess more like a ratio

At a guess more like a ratio of 80 to the fronts and 20 to the rears, only comming in when wheelspin or cornering. mabe 70:30.
You can select it to be front wheel drive or 4wd.

The people who say you can chose to split " X " amount of torque between the front and rear wheels are talking shite to put it politely. ( Unless you play around with the viscous fluids in the diff Wink )

power split between wheels of Rally 4

It is a visous coupled system so it is in 2wd until front wheels slip then it transfers power to the rear up to a max of approx 50/50 split depending on what is required.

There is no option to switch it on or off it is purely automatic.
