I saw a Sportrak today with home-made bullbars on.
It was made from box section and was gloss black, and looked quite nice.
What is the law regarding DIY bullbars?
Is there anything in particular you have to be careful of?

not sure about the law but basically any sharp edges or bits sticking out that might injure a pedestrian, means it should fail the mot. i bought a midi van years ago that had brackets stuck out the front that previously had supported a bullbar, the mot guy told me to remove them as they were a danger pedestrians. its the same with broken bumpers and flapping bodywork
