Central locking+Rain=Problems!

Forum:

Hello all. I'm a newbie member currently driving my daughters YRV while I replace the bent valves in my Zafira. As most of my journeys are just local shunts these days, I'm finding this car a much more suitable tool than my own.

Apart from the manky partial re-paint the car suffered under a previous owner, the car is in vgc and has given very little trouble in the years she has owned it.

The only trouble it suffers from at the moment is a tendency for the c.l. to lock/unlock in wet weather. Driving through puddles gives the same result, so I'm wondering if the wheel arches are providing a nesting place for some related electrical gubbins.

I've trawled the forum posts for some way back but can't find a similar problem mentioned. I intend to have a poke about when I've fixed my own busted tug, so in the meantime I would welcome any suggestions.

Thanks

Dont have this problem with my YRV Turbo. According to the wiring specs in the standard YRV tech manual for right handside and left handside of the car the CL ECU is located behind the dash in the cabin and all wires are going through into the doors via the inside of the car. This is with the standard factory offering with a standard remote fob. The only thing I can think of is that you may not have standard CL on your car? What type of YRV do you own? 1.0, 1.3 radical, premium etc..?

Central locking probs

Thanks for your reply jpor. The car is a 1.3 litre and is probably a Premium as it has lekky windows and mirrors.
