i have just got a lovely fourtrack rugger. i am new to 4x4's, it has lots of things to play with but don't know what they are.its an import and the handbook is in Japanese. things like free wheeling hubs? switch below handbreak says soft and hard? where should it be? its used on the roads. mabe pull a horse box/trailer.

buying '87 2.0 soft top fourtrack for £100 - what should i check for??

Hi there,

I'm buying am 87 2.0 petrol fourtrack for £100 so I can take it on the plymouth - dakar charity challenge drive to Timbuctu. http://www.plymouth-dakar.co.uk/

I'm not a novice to this sort of thing but would welcome what key areas to look for weaknesses. Obviously it's only £100 so if it drives I'll be lucky!!! It's MOT'd and Taxed for 3 months and I'm told it runs fine.

any sugestions where to get a engine for a terios 1.3 1999 i think i am right in saying it is the same engine that is in the hijet 1.3 mine has blown big end and it is £305 + vat for the parts alone so i think a diffrent engine might be the best bet.

Fourtrak Drivers seat

Smile Hi everyone, I have a question which I have been unable to solve, and I'm hoping someone out there might have the answer (probably Assasin!). On the side of the drivers seat of my F78 there is a lever that does'nt seem to do anything, I've looked through my workshop manual CD but I cannot find any mention of it. Any ideas anyone?

track rod end

took my f78 fourtrack to the local ats too get the tracking adjusted and found my drivers side track rod is siezed,is this something i can fix at home and what sort of ball joint removing tool will i need,what are my options being a d.i.y mechanic? many thanks for your help...bill
