Just got my first Daihatsu a 1991 fourtrak, i am into off roading and wanted to get a diesel engined rig.
my question is this, the car has auto freewheeling front hubs, i am told that provided i put everything in nuetral i can flat tow the thing using an A frame.Can this be confirmed please
Ok, to get to the point. I want to take part in the 2009 Charity Rally to Mongolia.http://mongolia.charityrallies.org/ It will involve driving at least 10000 miles(there)over tough terrain and very probably I will drive it back too. I want to use at least a small mix percentage of Veg oil (increasing the ratio depending on availability and mechanical feasibility). I have a budget of around £1000 for the vehicle and one year to get this right. What should I look for? What age? Mileage? Condition?
I currently have a '91 Fourtrak TDX long wheelbase which i use for offroading. I havent had it very long but to be honest im a bit disappointed with its performance offroad.
My previous offroader was a Sportrak and that was unstoppable. All i did was put some MT tyres on it and it would go anywhere.
My question is... would the Fourtrak short wheelbase be as good as the sportrak offroad?
Shot in the dark here, but I'm looking to buy a registration for my partners birthday in October. Ended up looking for J800GLE (her name is Jen and nickname Boogle just in case you're interested) and from what little bit of detective work I've managed, this seems to be currently attached to a 1991 Sportrak.
Did anyone see this?????
I know it wont make a hapenny worth of difference, but heres a copy of an email I've sent to the top gear team. If you feel strongely enough, plese send one of your own, or even a copy of this one with your name on it?
I have seen a few fourtraks available in UK with airbag and ABS...are these only limited editions? The interiors appear identical to normal fourtrak, has something been done to the dashboard and bonnets to enable airbag technology? Also the ABS..is there a comparable vehicle that these come from..terios possibly or are they from a toyota??
Hi, I have been doing some body work to my fourtrak, generally cleaning up rust etc. I was prodding around and found the panel under the front lights/grill is really rotten, it snaps like crisps!! I am wondering if there is anywhere i can buy a replacement one from? Anyone know?
