Sportrak Problems

Forum:

Hello there sporty people. I have a problem with my 91 sporty from 6 months ago when she decided to start making pretty bad knocking noises from under the right hand side wheel, it was in a pattern as I drove forward. I called out green flag and he said it was the half-shaft. So I purchased one second hand and got it fitted. Got it back from garage and went home in it, fine. The next day I went out in her and she decided to make the same noise banging or thumping from under the right wheel in a pattern, which then decided to go again later that day, untill now.

Broken rear spring. What a difference new ones make!!!!

Forum:

After a bit of over enthusiastic off roading the other week i managed to break, yes break, one of my rear leaf springs!! (what a twat i hear you cry)Anyway i was concerned about the ride after converting to spring over axle, prior to the break, and thought this was due to worn out shocks. Having replaced the rear springs using a set from Milners i realised that the leaves were a bit saggy not the shocks and this was causing the truck to handle like a water bed !! The truck rides fine and true now with the new ones and for the price a real bargain. I`ve also gained another 2 inches in height, give it a couple of weeks and i will replace the front ones aswell and maybe go for some new gas shocks.

Daihatsu HiJet van

Forum:

Hi all. This is my first time here so please be gentle with me!

I'm just about to buy a 1995 'N' reg HiJet van with twin side loading doors. It's the nine ninety-odd cc petrol version. Can anybody please tell me where I can get more info (eg - expected fuel consumption, any known problems etc) about this model.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Forum:

Ive just been bought a welder for doing up my fourtrak and Ive come to a brick wall already and ive not even plugged it in yet.

This may sound stupid but here goes : The instruction to connect my welder to an electrical supply goes something like this "connect the mains lead, through a suitably fused isolator switch , to a 230volt (50hz) electrical supply, with a 15amp fuse rating. A standard 13 amp plug must not be used with these welders" The welder is a Clarke mig 151-te
