Been reading this site for a couple of weeks as I'm thinking of buying a Daihatsu Fourtrak Fieldman and am trying to gather up a bit of information as despite always having a soft spot for them I don't actually know that much about the different specs etc. Ideally I'm after one of the later fieldmans (1999/2000).

What is the expected milage likely to be had out of a 2.8 Fourtrak before major problems mine has now done 166K?
I have just bought a new fuel filter and 20 ltres of cooking oil from Makro. Can I just add this to 20 ltres of diesel and off we go without any further modifications or am I looking for trouble at this high milage?
Hi, Can anyone tell me if the factory turbo set-up on a Daihatsu Rocky/fourtrak diesel 2.8 will bolt straight onto the non-turbo motor. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi i,ve just bought a 1999 T fourtrak td and want to put some more wheels on it as the originals have seen better days does anybody know what other 4x4 wheels will fit on a fourtrak? Many Thanks in advance
Do the rocky hardtops come off or are they permament i hate the extra little window at the rear that makes the roof look stupid does anyone know what year they started doing that so i can look for one's that dont have it thanks
I have just bought a 1997 2.8 Fourtrax, are any parts from the earlier models interchangable? I was thinking about running gear , brakes, hubs etc.
