Fourtrak for towing - help!

Forum:

Hi Folks, I'm totally new to 4x4 things and have been jolly pleased to read so much helpful stuff here. I need to buy a cheap (sub£2.5k) vehicle to tow a 3.5 tonne exhibition trailer that is 7m long. This is a drawbar trailer with four wheels and will have an actual weight quite close to 3.5 tonnes when loaded. I have researched carefully all the VOSA and DVLA regulations and I'll be using a tacho etc. Question is: what vehicle? All the exhibition people say go for Landrover Discovery, but reading up tells me that these are full of issues.

Fourtrak rear side windows

Forum:

The rear side window rails on my '94 Indy Trak are well rotted. Assuming its not possible to replace these (cant find any mention of spares on t'net)does anyone know of any ways of knocking these up? Or is it a case of when they do finally give up, replace the window by bonding in a panel?

Any ideas/tips welcomed.

What price should I ask for when selling my mildly faulty Fourtrak? (more info in thread)

Forum:

Well, I have a foutrak which has no MOT due to excessive corrosion (which I mentioned in a previous post several months ago). The corrosion to fix with a welder etc looks to be about a 2 grand job.

So what does anyone reckon my chances are of selling it to:

Fourtrak Tyres

Forum:

Hello. I am going to need some new Tyres for my 1990 F70 reasonably soon and I would like to know what to buy. I currently have 215/80R15. I searched and read the other 5 or so previous threads on here about this and found more than one answer. I would like to know what tyres will fit on my F70 standard steel rims with no modification, rubbing or steering lock loss. I know that 215/80 will fit, but I saw that some people run on 235/75 and 255/70. Will these bigger sizes fit on my truck?

New articles in "How it Works" page

Forum:

Hi all.

I would like to draw your attention to the section at the top of the page "How it works". Of mainly interest to Fourtrak and Sportrak owners, but others may find the communication article of interest.

3 new and interesting articles from "assassin", a good read, a change from hearing about Fourtrak owners problems.
