As a New member of the club, I would like to wish the members
all the best for the coming year.
I have owned 4 Traks since 1988, and since reading the postings on the forum, have been amazed by the wealth of knowledge posted by the members.
Well done, keep it coming.

I am in urgent need of a drivers side door for a '92 swb fourtrak (last of the leafsprung lovelies), and have been told that the door from a later coil-sprung model will not fit. Can anybody confirm or deny this for me?
Also, any suggestions as for scrappies that might have one in the midlands would be a great help, cheers!
Hi all,
re starter motor on a 1991 fourtrak, there is what looks like an end cover on the motor with a central retaining screw in the end, question is do you remove the screw and pull off the cover, does this give you access to the brushes? or do you have to remove the starter complete to replace the brushes?
Dont want to remove the cover to find its sprung loaded in there.
There are many posts here about the Turbo Diesel Fourtrak average mpg.
Trying to figure it out, I come across these facts:
Fourtrak owners report some 25 to 30 mpg (sometimes up to 33 mpg, or even a lil more???).
The number of miles on a full tank seems to average at 250 to 300 miles/full tank.
The fourtrak tank capacity is reported to be of 55 to 60 litres (14 to 15 gallons).
HI ALL, NEW TO HERE,
we are looking at purchasing 1991 fourtrack 2.8 diesel can you tell me what to look out for, as i have reluctantly had to part company with my mitsubishi pajero 2.5 td as the head gasket has gone and i can't afford to do it as it may also need a new head so it will be far to expensive, but i had this for towing caravans also its cheap to run
We are thinking of getting a 4wd and a Terios ticks all the boxes.
We can't afford a new one and we've seen a 1998 S Reg Terios. I guess this means it is a Mark 1.
My questions..
1) Is it full time 4wd?
2) I noticed on the dash a button which according to the salesman it locks the diff. What is this? Is it for crawling along through ice/snow at very low speed?
The rest of the timing belt change seems straightforward enough, just ordered all of the engine belts from Milners (I'm in the USA). What is the easiest way to be sure I am at TDC on Cyl. 1 on the compression stroke? I have a 2.8 TD fitted to my old Landie and have the whole front end off of it for some fixes and a repaint so access to the front of the engine is unimpeded right now.
I've bought a G reg (1989?) Sportrak from a friend. I don't know much about them and my friend passed as much information on as possible but I still have some questions that I'd like to know the answers to.
