I have a tirfor jockey manual winch rated 300kg which is kicking about in my garage. The question is whether it will be tough enough to recover my trusty Fourtrak TDX if it gets bogged down somewhere or do I need something more heavy duty. I ask because I fancy having a go at some green laning, (when I find one nearby) and as not much seems to be happening locally (Barnsley/Huddersfield area) may well end up solo.
I am looking at buying a winch for my Sportrak and dont know a great deal about them.Can anyone tell me how big a winch I need to look at, given a limited budget, I dont tend to get stuck in deep mud but occasionaly I cant quite get myself out and need to jack myself out and put bricks under wheels which is becoming a pain not to mention embarassing. I have looked on ebay and seen some small 2000lb/6000lb winches which fasten to a tow ball / tow eye (for about £60) but I dont know whether they are powerful enough and dont want to waste my money if they arent any good. Chassis mounted ones are nice but expensive and may be a bit overkill so somebody please help.
there is a switch fitted inside my recess for the glovebox,
its actually fitted to the rear panelling,
it shows some kind of image on there,
and appears factory fitted,
before i go switching it to find what it does - what is it for???
when i was checking the oil on my gear box(rocky) a bolt was loose on the side and after i took it out and replaced it the vehicle will not go backwards help
Hi all! After last weekend I realise I need to get a 2nd battery attached for auxillary use i.e. for my powerful lamp for night time shooting. Anyone give me some ideas what I need to do, also what size/type of battery etc. Any suggestions/advise greatly appreciated.

Hi folks, can anyone help me by explaining the correct way to wire up my spotlights on my sportrak so that all the lights work as normal and the spotlights come on with full beam and flash. cheers. Ron.
Can you guys please give me an idea of fuel consumption for a Sportrak mainly around town but not stop start stuff. My other half filled it right up for about £40 and got about 240 miles to a tank which seems lower than expected. Was expecting nearer 300.
I was contacted last week , by a bill peter, about an ad i placed in the classifieds, Fourtrack fieldman van. only to find out that it was a scammer,the PERP then seemed to change into a female `overnight`going by the name of sturge kerry(same grammar and awesome spelling),then Mr Lurch banned them from the site!BUT IT SEEMS HE`S BACK !!!!!!!!! Has any one else heard of rufustus1 ?????
Does anybody know where I can find a side on, line drawing of a Sportrak, as I am trying to design a new set of graphics for my '97 Sportie, but can't find one anywhere!
