I habe a 2.8td 1989 foutrack. Want to know how much it will pull legally. It pulls a horse trailer and 2 horses with little effort but someone told me today that I am excceding the tow limit??? I'm sure i'm not but can't find anything in writing in my manuals. Can you put me write!!
Help, when it's really cold my power steering gets stiff to turn and won't come back to centre on it's own ! when it's slightly warmer out side ( 5 C plus ) it works OK ! I've replaced the pump and pumped all the steering grease nipples with newe grease all to no effect. Any ideas anyone
hi everybody i have a problem with a noise coming from under the jeep and on investigation i found that my caliper is a bit lose. meaning the small caliper you loosen and take out as you change your brake pads. as i travel down hill i touch the brake pedal slightly and the noise dissappears. i only had this problem after i changed my pads. any ideas on how to rectify the problem?
please send some technical advice i really need it. i drive a sporty by the way!
After a weekend spent 'car shopping' after the engine in my latest series 3 Landrover gave up the ghost, I've ended up with a Sportrak as a daily driver while I find another engine for the Landy.
So far I'm impressed, but the odd rust bubble on my M-reg motor is something I'm not used to having to deal with.
My question is simply is there anything I should know about Sportys before trusting one to get me to work and back every day? Any weak links or things you have to keep an eye on?
Ive finally had to let my trusty Isuzu trooper 3.1 go. 165,000 miles mostly done by me and she has hardly ever let me down So after reading all the reviews and talking to local farmers I’ve decided that what I need is…....a fourtrax or is it. And this is where I need your help do I go for fourtrax or fieldman I’ve found a good looking fieldman in my price bracket (2001 X reg) on searching the net and buying costly magazines even ringing the local Daihatsu dealer (mentioning no names)
Does anyone know where I can get an annex tent, (fitting over the back door), for a 2000/V Fourtrak Ind.TDX. I would prefer one with a porch and a sleeping compartment.
Is there a company that specialises in these or do they have to be made-to-order?
Can anyone recommend an off road driver training place, where I can learn the finer points of driving off road, nothing under water or over huge canyons, but banks, mud, ditches etc. When to use High or Low etc.

I think i need to change the thermostat on my sportrak as the temp guage doesnt move and the heater blows cold. am i right? If so could anyone tell me how to find and change it as i am no mechanic. thanks.
Can anyone advise me. I always find the aftermarket ones never fit right. Ideally I would like some factory supplied tailored rubber ones. Are they still available.
