Fourtrak Manuel Front Hub query

Forum:

1988 petrol Foutrak F85
Looking on the front hubs recently I came across a hexican shaped nut on top.
When I unscrewed it, it looks as if it should be filled with something ie oil or grease.
Can anybody tell me if anything should go in there and why?
I can't find anything about it in the manuals I have.
Regards Martin

Sportrak Queries

Forum:

Hi guys, I am considering buying a Sportrak and wondered if you could me some advice?
I have £3000 to spend, is this enough.
Are they reliable, this is going to be my daily commute car.
How readily available are parts, especially in the Glasgow area.
What problems/faults should I be looking out for

What oils?

Forum:

4Trak 2.8D.

What oils do you reccommend, going to change the engine oil, was going to use comma euro diesel.

Also, what is the best for the gearbox? Have heard that auto fluid is good but sounds a bit iffy to me.

Ant reccomendations would be appreiciated.

message to Mike re leaf springs.

Forum:

Well, Thanks to your excellent instructions m8, i now have a new pair of springs on my sporty. It was a pig of a job but we managed it, took 3 hours to do the 1st one as we couldnt get the front pin out, had to burn it off in the end, however, it only took 40 mins to do the other side, and what a difference its made, gained 2 inch on the back end and she sits lovely now. Cheers m8.
