On my Sporty i found the pedal travels a long way before doing anything. I have bleed the system time and time again, and when the engines off the pedal is rock hard, but when the engines running its soft again, The servo is working fine.
I test drove another one before i brought this one, and the pedal response was horrible again? is this common? the padal seems to go half way?
hi ive had a sportrak for 5 yrs its been a good wee machine, im looking to buy a decent fourtrack now, i know that they had more features as they got younger like a.b.s. ,alloys, and im curious about the flick switch from 2 wheel to 4 wheel while on the move, and is a full service history very important with this vehicle, and what to watch out for on non f.s.h. models, any info would be really hel
Can anyone offer me some advice? I am considering purchasing a Daihatsu Fourtrak 2.8TDX Independent 1993, 65,000 miles full service history and was wondering what sort of price parts are for these vehicles i.e. wishbone/balljoints/exhausts etc,and how reliable they usually are, any info would be much appreciated
Does anybody else notice the fuel shut off solenoid clicking in and out on start up ?. I noticed this while I had the bonnet up and started the engine, heard an intermittent clicking and traced it to the solenoid. Obviously a necessary thing to have on a diesel as you can't stop the engine unless fuel supply is cut off, unlike a petrol engine with spark ingnition. Could always put it in high gear and stall it against the brakes to shut it down but not sure it would be good for the clutch :-).
Just returned from the U.K. (Carlisle is awash!) to the land of ice and fire.
My question is this:
Is it okay to change from 2WD to 4WD without stopping the vehicle? I have to change between the two frequently on the road to ReykjavÃÂk as the surface changes from slush, snow, ice, tarmac and mud. The Sporty seems quite happy with the changes, and I think I have automatic hubs (?!!!)
Hi all, I just had my suzuki sj written off, some plonker hit my behind.
I have always loved these sportys because of the hard roof and clean interiors and the pully engine and ......Oh youve heard it all before.
I was a bit lucky and brought mine for £400 with a privite plate, and a long pink sticker down one side.
I do however have a few problems with it, It has two differant size tyres, 1 being 195t15 on the front and the rears being 205/70t15?????? Any idea on what this is meant to be, also we have a missfire, i located this to number 4 cylinder, with a Broken ht lead, so i found one to replace with, but its still missfiring, poss plug.
