when accelerating hard my jeep dies b4 reaching the red but feels like it wants to go faster, are they normally sluggish or so so ?? im a taxi driver tx2 it zooms with a wee ford 2.4 turbo. my fourtrack feels so slow in comparison, is it always pedal 2 the metal with fourtraks 2 make it feel alive, or is mine needing a diesel tune? if there is such a thing. cheers allan
My Fourtrak's high intensity rear light will not work. The bulb is OK and the tell-tale dash light comes on when the switch is on.
The vehicle has a Daihatsu tow bar with trailer socket wiring.
I've heard that there is a micro-switch in the socket which switches off the rear fog light when the trailer plug is inserted.
Might the problem lie with this micro switch?
Just hoping someone can help; I'm trying to locate an offside front headlight for my fourtrak fieldman which I also use for my business. I'm looking a bit sick as there don't seem to be many on the breaker's yards. Cheers for reading and hope you can help.
The time to get my 1979 F50 diesel on the road is almost here . It has got its safety certificate (MOT) and rego day is next Monday . I do have an F20 manual but I note that it misses some info , the sort of thing that appears in an owners handbook . Can anyone tell me :-
Does anyone know of any problems/recommendations to replacing the head gasket on a Daihatsu Sportrack petrol 1.6 16v?
Mine is using water and blowing steam out of the exhaust.
I think I have caught the problem early as the engine has only got warm, not too hot and used a couple of pints of water only so hoping the head is ok.
I would like to know if the Head Bolts need repacing as well as the gasket?
hi all, does anyone know of a place where i can get replacement panels for the rear inside wheel arches of my fourtrack..other than main dealers....i also need the front panel where the indicators go...the pane in between the front wings.....any help greatly appreciated guys....ps im in the north east of the uk.
Hi! I just aquired a 93-k reg sportrak elxi, its got a lot of miles on the clock (apprx 104000m) but i knew the previous owner and its been well maintained (if a little abused)To be honest i was a little doubtful about keeping it, thinking that it will guzzle fuel, and with a 1.6 petrol engine be too heavy and perform badlyy, and be horrible to drive and in general just be a pain in the butt, but boy have i changed my mind!!! Within a second of sitting behind the wheel the word fun just would not leave my head! I've never driven a 4x4 on the road before and i totally enjoyed it, the height was great giving a better view all around the turning circle is pretty good too, cornering at speed was a little tricky and was pretty much the only thing that was there to remind me that i was driving a 4x4 and not a car! i cant wait to do some proper off roading, but there is some minor work i would like to do before i really put it through its paces.
