Direct Line WARNING

Forum:

Hi all. I just had a falling out with Direct Line car insurance. I rang to ask if fiting non-standard tyres (IE more agresive) for bad weather and towing trailers out of fields would be a problem. The tyres themselves were deemed to be fine. However as I had admited to them that my car was used off the road their in house underwriter canceled my insurance. Even though the 'off road use' was explained to involve parking and collecting my trailer from a friends flat grass field.

New crossmember

Forum:

Waved goodbye to B16 4 TRK as she dissapeared into the mist on the back of an AA recovery truck :o( Yep..reading the past postings looks like i,m not the first, and wont be the last to become a victim of metal rot. Have entrusted it to Paul at Atkinsons..seems a good fella, and much as I like my local garage..at least Paul knows his 4traks.I,d much rather be spending hard earned dosh on sexy stuff..so all that talk of making it into a ragtop will have to wait a bit longer..hopefully wont be too long before I have her back.

What tyres are best??

Forum:

I'm looking for a new set of tyres for the spring/summer. I'm running 31 10.5 15's insa turbos but want something more fuel efficient and i'll keep the insa's for off roading days, would i be better going smaller? narrower? or what? so would be 30 9.5 15's be better or 215 80 15's????? also i'll be doing a little off road, maybe 70 on road and 30 off.
