I finally found a car I have been after for years and bought a 54 reg Sirion Rally 2 at auction. However it has not come without it's problems and that's what I'm wondering if any of you kind fellow members may be able to help me with?
Hello everyone, I have a hit and miss problem with my '90 charade 1.3 CX
When cold or warming up(With or without the choke on) if I depress the accelerator to any more than around 1/3 throttle the car miss-fires when accelerating, as if it is running on 3 cylinders but I can't pinpoint which one it is as it only happens under load.
This didn't happen when I first got the car and has got gradually worse from the odd little "blip" every now and again to struggling to pull away on hill starts.
I originally posted this in the wrong forum and therefore reposted it.
I would like to know in which direction you turn the bolt that locks the pulley onto the crankshaft ie; ii it a right or left hand thread and also how do you lock up the crank to stop it turning while undoing the bolt.
Any info on this would be appreciated.
The engine is an 850cc 3 cylinder mira
Thanks mortda
does anyone know the size of the brake bleeder screws for the 2003 Charade?
the part number is 4754787506, but Daihatsu are charging over 13 quid per screw so want to try a motor factors but they cannot id the screw from part number or reg....
Lots of squealing from under the bonnet when engine running seems to indicate belt slipping. Belt needs replacing think its 4pk1755 has anybody got any helpful tips on replacing the belt and does the 14mm nut in the centre of the adjusting pulley have to be slackened to allow the pulley to move to tension the belt by means of the adjusting screw on the front. Does the new belt have to be tensioned by a special meter or can the belt be tensioned the old fashioned way by depressing the belt by hand and if so how tight (how much movement) would be acceptable. HELP needed please URGENTLY.
Hi, hope someone can help.
My partners charade has has starting problems recently. I reckon it's the battery is on it's way out. As soon as you put jump leads across it it starts first time.
Anyway, here's my problem. I was out trying to jump start her car. It was dark and freezing. I attached the leads the wrong way round and got some nice fireworks from the battery terminal.
After correcting the leads the car would turn over but just wouldn't start. It was as if there was an immobiliser on or something.
Does anybody know if the old shape 1.0L sirion exhaust fits into the new shaped 1.0L sirion just the pipe going alond the bottom of the car and silencer. Not the cat only where it joins on at the front? Thanks.
I Have a 2002 daihatsu sirion 1.3 4wd and was trying to change the alternator. I got to it, managed to get the top bolt out disconnected El connector and terminal lug. However, after removing the nut from the lower bolt I tried to slide it out and the wheel arch stops me fully withdrawing it. Could someone just tell me I'm an idiot and there really is an obvious way to get the bolt out without cutting the wheel arch?
I have a 2005 sirion which has done 75k miles but there is a tapping noise which starts at a certain rev when driving it comes at about 2k but goes if i put my foot down. When the engine is on tickover it sounds fine no clunks ticks etc.
I have recently done an engine flush to see if it was a sticky lifter or vavle but that didnt do anything, the car isnt loosing power and runs smooth just this ticking when it is pulling.
Could this be something catching in the engine bay like a pipe or the exhaust tapping? :S Help please it drives me crazy!
