Just a brief update of how we are getting on with our set up for taking part in this years Mongol Rally, this is also a massive plea for help of you all with regards to parts and donations for our charity event.
Does anyone know if Daihastu ever made a 4WD with an automatic gearbox? If so, what & when, and has anyone got one for sale?
Also, did they ever produce an MPV-style vehicle along the lines of Delicas/Townaces, etc, but a little smaller? I could swear I've seen something like that about, somewhere...
Am I correct in thinkning that the fron of the vehicle is the same, with just more length in the rear?
The reason I ask is because the Sliding joint on my fron prop has seized, and I can only find people breaking LWB fourtraks.
So Will I be able to buy one from a LWB, or do i need to keep looking?
PS, have tried unseizing it, even Oxy-Acettalyne couldnt shift it.
Anybody put 15.3" tyres on 15" rims? Anything go wrong? Do you need to use an inner-tube? Does it deflate very easily if there is no inner tude? Does the tyre slip easily on the rim in heavy traction conditions?
I do not need speed from my 4x4 as it will be just trundling along our farm lane and across fields. I need traction more than anything.
I've had a search through the forum posts but can't quite seem to sort a solution to my problem with removal of a fourtrak wiring harness. I thought perhaps some of you knowledgeable folk may be able to give me a few words of advice or point me in the right direction...
This is probably a stupid question but I assume the original daihatsu fourtrak boot liner for a LWB will not fit a SWB fourtrak. Found one on e-bay but don't want to pay postage if it doesn't fit.
Cheers,
Shane.
I've had two Sporties in the past but due to circumstances, they had to go. I want another one now. Has anyone got one for sale? I live in Wales and want a roadworthy one not a modified off-roader. If you are selling a vehicle, please let me know. Good home waiting for the right vehicle!
Anyone been trying to find a DECENT dog guard out there???
Lot's of rubbish that fall apart or so flimsy they are a nightmare to install and cost a fortune (like the daihatsu one for the Terios!!!)
