Lights on warning buzzer on sportrak?? Are they fitted with one?

Forum:

Do all sportys have one of these. Mines a 96P plate elxi and it doesnt make any noise which as a consequence has left me with a flat battery a couple of times.

The handbook says they have one but where is it to be found (exactly) and can it be replaced

Turbo Light`

Forum:

Hello.

I have seen a picture of the dash from a 1988 Fourtrak TDX, and noticed that on the rev guage there is a small light that lights up when the turbo runs.

Do you think it would be possible to wire up an LED to the turbo power supply (if it has any...I dont know much about turbos), and wire in a relay so that when the turbo receives power, it throws the relay and turns on the LED bulb?

is terios any good off road

Forum:

Hi guys and girls , I currently own and love my sportrak and find it fantastic off road but I need to reduce out goings so I want a 4x4 in the low road tax bracket, I have a budget of around £1500 to £2000 and am considering a suzuki samurai , suzuki jimny or Daihatsu terios . I would like to hear from any one who has taken a terios off road and would like to know if they were any good and are they reliable and cheap to run.

Long Wheelbase or Short Wheelbase

Forum:

I am looking at a Fourtrak (Best 4x4 out there!)

To be honest a 7 seater would be handy for carrying extra stuff (mainly fishing takle for me and my Dad), but I am worried whether they are bad off road, because some of the places I can go because I live in Cornwall (Really good 4x4 Moorland about 20 miles and 50 miles from my house!)

Sorry if this offends anyone, but the only experience I have with good 4x4s is with Land Rover Defenders, and I know that the Defender 90 is better off road than the Defender 110.

Daihatsu F50 Hydraulic Handbrake

Forum:

I managed to acquire another Saxan Crusader (F50 with fibreglass body) today which I am quite pleased with. She has the running on problem and has to be stalled to stop the engine running but I have read Nev K's list of common problems and think I know what to do about that. The reason for posting is the vehicle is fitted with a hydraulic handbrake which requires me to pull a knob/lever on the dash whilst trying to engage/disengage the handbrake.

How does transfer box 4x4 work ?

Forum:

I've removed the body off my rotten Fourtrak (1988 / E reg) with the intention of fitting the engine and gearbox into my CJ-5 Jeep.
The transfer box wiring / pipes are a little confusing.
I assume the drive to the front axle is vacuum operated.
Am I right in thinking that it works by DISCONNECTING the drive when engine running and drops back into connected when stationary Unknw
What are all the wiring sensors / switches for Unknw
