Hi, I drove a charade from Norway to Poland last year. The Charade has gone about 141 k km, and maybe its done its job I think. But my Mother wants to keep it. The problem now is that it wont run when it is cold. It takes 10 seconds before it starts on the starter. And If I give gas more than 1 mm before 5 minutes has passed, it will strangle it-self. Also there is comming more noice from the exhaust pipe, so maybe that has to be replaced to. I have had it to a mechanic 3 times, since it stoped totally some time ago. The problem is that they dont speak english, so I cat get more help there. I saw this forum, and hope maybe someone knows about this problem here.
Can some body tell me the main reason why my Engine Fault light occasionally turn on for random amount of time, then switches off. After the light switches off the car jerks when trying to accelerate, then stalls when not accelerating. Once the car stalls it takes a few times to start again, once started the car runs normally again. Sometimes the Engine Fault light turns for a while then turns off, but the car running is not effected.
hi, i recently got a cx 1994 charde for work and was driving it around and it overheated, the temp was 32'c and i also own a skyline so a friend was telling me that i was abusing it but i dont think i pushed it too hard
is this a common problem with them or could it be my thermostat?

Hello Daihatsu friends, My 2001 Sirion has just had a nasty stone chip to its bonnet which has resulted in a sizeable dent which may require the respraying of the whole of the bonnet.Has anybody got any suggestions to prevent similar things from happening such as some sort of stone deflector system. A few months ago I bought little black Daihatsu Cuore. It's from February 1997.
Could somebody tell me how large the tank of this car is (32, 36 or 38 liters)? Is there any red light or any sign when the tank is getting empty? I'm afraid when the level of petrol gets low, people told me I should take care not to leave my car without petrol by reason of type of my engine (injection).

Hi All - I've a ten year old Mira, whichI believe is just the Cuore under a different label. Am I correct in saying that the cooling fan is thermostatically controlled? If this is so where is the stat located so that I can test/replace it. I've tested the fan and it runs OK when I connect a power supply directly to it but it fails to cut in as water temp rises. Any input much appreciated.Regards.
I'm replacing the thermostat on my 1991 Charade with 4 cyl. engine. I pulled the housing off and there wasn't one in there. Isn't it supposed to be inside the housing that attaches to the top radiator hose?
I've just bought a 85 Charade GXL auto. There's about a quarter inch loose drop on the accelerator pedal befor it meets any resistance - is this right? If not, can anyone advise me of where the adjuster is as there doesn't seem to be a manual avalable.

I have an older (1990) Applause and I'm experiencing a hard to rectify cooling problem. The car overheats sporadically and upon stopping the coolant seems to boil. I think this is a problem with coolant flow; the bottom radiator hose feels almost cool to the touch while the top one is extremely hot. I have however had the thermostat replaced (twice), the radiator cleaned, the water pump replaced, the radiator cap replaced, and the alternator replaced to fix an electrical problem (charging at too high a voltage) that may or may not be related.
