Hi from New Zealand,

Our daihatsu 2000 Move LX started giving some problems with its auto transmision - I can only get one gear (1st), no other gear seems to work, even(R)Checked the Trans oil (fine)... someone thought that it migth be the "govenor"? - but I don't know where to locate this.. someone else said that if you can't get it into (R) it's not the "govenor"? Can anyone please shed some light on this if you can?

I have just bought as a winter runabout a 1985 Charade Turbo, its such a fun little car but I cant believe the MPG I am getting! The last tank I managed 160 miles which worked out to 27MPG!!! Out of a 1.0 turbo I cant understand why! Does anyone know what I should be expecting to the gallon? Someone has ripped the airbox out and fitted a K&N directly onto the turbo and I wonder if the mixture has been richened up to compensate perhaps? Also it has an aftermarket boost gauge fitted and it seems to boost up to 1 bar if allowed, does this seem right?

i have put an engine out of an applause into a charade, the engine is a reco, the engine will not idle smoothly , and there is a massive flat spot. Does anything need to be changed over with the efi system?

hi, I'm new here, I'm removing the gearbox on my 1994 L200 Mira, new clutch due and possibly new flywheel (if a light copy is viable).

I've just removed left CV from the box, after I do right CV, it will be held by the mount only.

My question is what way should the gearbox be removed? The engine mounts are front and rear, but I wanted to undo the gearbox mount (left fender) and drop it down, but I'm not sure if this is possible with the engine mount orientation.

i'm new to this forum, and generally new to home mechanics etc. I have a 1988 Charade Turbo which i'm very fond of, so i'm trying to keep it running nicely and learning a bit about engines etc as i go... I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction (or give me some advice themselves) of a good guide as to how to adjust the ignition timing. I've noticed that the engine idles a little roughly and that the idling speed isn't as constant as it perhaps ought to be - i reckon this might be something to do with the timing but if anyone has any other suggestions.... also, does anybody know where i might be able to locate a workshop manual for this car?
