I have recently bought a new Charade EL, and it has reached 1500 miles, yet I am still not getting the maximum combined MPG of 58 that was advertised. My current MPG is approx 48 combined. Is this normal? How many miles should it reach before it gets to the maximum MPG of 58 or thereabouts?
Also has anyone else had problems with the customer service at West Bromwich?
I am wondering if anybody knows where i can get a hold of a stainless steel exhaust for a daihatsu YRV (non Turbo)? I couldn't get a normal one anywhere and when I went to a dealer they want £320! So i think that it would be cheaper in the long run to buy stainless! Also does anybody know if a YRV exhaust is the same as a Sirion? Thanks
I have a Charade 1997 1.5 4 cylinders fuel injected engine; the car is going really well, the only problem that is bothering me is that rpm's are not stable at idle, even sometimes it looks like one of the cylinders is not working at all, could it be an injection problem?
The other problem is the oil consumption, it is using about 2 litres between oil changes, but it hasn't got any leaks and is not burning it, so I'm really intrigued' the car has good power and acceleration and the fuel consumption is excellent; I don't know what to blame.
Hello, I have recently bought a standard R plate Cuore 850 5-speed which runs well and is in generally good nick but I'm only getting 29mpg which I think is shocking this size of motor.
It's only done 30K and has a 60% service history, engine feels a tiny bit lumpy when revved in neutral but I put that down to it being a 3-cylinder.
Does anyone have any suggestions before I go to an authorised garage for a diagnostic.
My Daihatsu Domino, 1987, needs a new windscreen wiper motor. As its an old car I do not want to pay £249 for a new replacement motor if I can get a second hand one. Any ideas?
Now, I'm not the most mechanically minded person in the world, which is probably half of the problem, however, my problem is as follows;
I am trying to replace the rear brake disks on my '91 1.3 GTI Charade, but am having trouble removing the caliper. Instead of 2 bolts as I would have imagined were fixing it in place, there is one easily accessible bolt holding the top of the caliper in, but the bottom is secured in another way.
I've been having problems with my 1988 Daihatsu Charade, for the first time since I've had it. I've been told numerous times it is the starter relay switch. I got the part and now can't even find it under the hood. I know it sounds crazy, but I don't think it's there. Nothing happens when I try to start it now. Only the headlights work. I've traced the wires from the battery and there doesn't seem to be anything even resembling the relay switch I got from the auto parts store.
I am the owner of a Daihatsu SG Chirade, June 1989 and it is fantastic on fuel when she is at her best. Just under 12 months ago, got a tune up before a big holiday and put in new water pump. A day later, lost all water, new motor was the next step. 12 months down the track, tune-up, within a week, water pump blown again!!!!! Why, what, how. Everytime the motor running perfectly, the water pump blows.
I've got a 1990 charade cx 1.0.
its got c.b ignition points in distributor and these burn on a regular basis. I've had numerous new points and condensors fitted but no good. has any other owners had this problem,
