I've had the car since September and no problem but recently the engine has been sluggish at around 30mph. I can still get good speed out of it but it just doesn't feel right when accelerating.
Is this a common problem with Charades? Car was serviced yesterday and they said it was the spark plugs. Well, they changed those and it is a bit better but something not quite right.
I have had my Daihatsu Charade for a year and thought it would be an economical solution in difficult financial times! So anyway on MOT have been told that it needs an osr wheel bearing and that there parts are so rare with fitting it's likely to cost over £400 and with a bottom ball joint it's going to in total add up to nearly £600. Is this right?
Wondered could anyone help me. I bought a Daihatsu Cuore 1.0 last year with a years MOT from a secondhand dealer(probably a dodgy MOT). I was just checking the car over for its next MOT and realised the lambda sensor after the downpipe bend has its cables (all 4) cut off. For what reason, I'm not sure. But it explains why I'm only achieving around 37MPG as I can only manage 250 miles on a tank.
Ahhh,changed the brake fluid to dot4 synthetic,now have a small leak from the master cylinder.Anyone know how much new,or is there a seal kit from daihatsu????:help:
Bought a 1991 Charade 1.0 CX a few days ago. First it overheated, and we discovered that radiator and hose were leaking so we replaced them. Now the fan does not come on with new radiator, so we bought new thermo switch (have yet to install.)

I have just completely rebuilt the badly overheated engine in my 2005 Sirion and I need some information that any other Sirion owner can help me with.
The alternator wiring has a larger power cable which is secured by a nut and then below it there is a wiring plug with I think a red and white cable and a white cable going into it on two separate connections within the plug.

THE PROBLEM-
I own a daihatsu sirion 1.3s 2005, after a recent MOT and service the feul consumption has increased from about 39mpg to about 25mpg or a full tank will give me about 200 miles.
HI can any body shed some light on my 1.3 YRV engine noise prob.
have had car for over 3 years now and only just turned 60,000 but this last year engine has got very clattery when idle and when driven under 3,000 revs, when pushed over this noise disappears. Any advice or info would be great
