I am hoping you can give me some advice. I have a R Reg (1997) Move Plus with an ED-20 engine. My owner's manual tells me to set the Valve clearances to:-
For information, I have just renewed my 2005 Sirion's discs as they were warped - or so the garage and I thought. The actual cause seems to have been flecks of rust between the disc and hub - lodged there when the tyres were changed I guess. Poor design I think as there is a reasonable gap between the hub circumference and the disc's bore - most car's have a narrow gap, a mild interference or better still, a screw to hold the disc in place. So the message is: take car after you change tyres as the disc is a very loose fit.
I have had problems with my 2000 registered Sirion for a few months.
When the engine is warmed up the rev counter shows 2000 revs per minute whilst idleing. When cold the revs are very low and the engine sometimes cuts out.
My garages diagnostic machine identified a faultly coolent temprature sensor, they replaced the sensor which appears to have helped, but not solved the problem.

There's a leak in the radiator of my 1997 Grand Move (1.5ltr petrol). As it's a Japanese import the garage reckons they will have difficulty sourcing a new one if it has to be replaced. I'm wondering if the radiator in the Grand Move is compatible with the radiator any other Daihatsu model? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have a 97 993cc Hijet.
It will not start, and no sparks.
Electronic Ignition is new to me, aged 63.
I relly need a wiring diagram of the ignition circuits.
I have changed the ECU, - no sparks. There is 12v at the coil.
I wonder if an older vehicle distributer with points and normal coil can be fitted also, but if anyone can help, it would be good.
