I have a 2004 Auto YRV Turbo that's done 50,000 miles. A couple of weeks ago my transmission failed (on fast lane of M1!) Anyway, I could drive it using the steer shift in 1st and 2nd but it wouldn't change to 3rd. At the garage they couldn't figure out the problem and called me to see if my car could be taken to a gear box specialist. I agreed as I needed it sorted.
I have a 1998 997(?)cl Cuore and i fitted which i presumed was a recharged battery, however upon installing this i recieved a puff of smoke coming of the fuse box under the car bonnet which i have change a single 30amp fuse which was blown. I have since bought another new battery and the car knows i have electric as the use of hazards and side lights are working but i get no engine lights or engine start. Is there a logical/quick/cheap fix or am I looking at a right git to solve?
Regards
i have a 993 cc EFI Hijet, 1997.
After doing a few jobs, I tried to start the engine, but nothing.
it turns but there is no spark.
There is 12v at both red wires of the Balast Resistor.
There is a very small voltage at the distributor coil feeds.
There is a resistance reading through both coil leads to the king lesd connector.
I am no electrician, but have not been stuck before.
I have an '07 Sirion 1.3 which is due for an oil change. As it is still within the warranty period I decided to use genuine Diahatsu parts and toddled along to the nearest dealer for a new filter. I was surprised to find it is not a spin-on type but a replacement paper element. The instructions on the box suggest a special tool is required to remove and replace the filter housing. Could anybody confirm whether I will be able to unscrew the filter housing with a normal removal tool, (I have the chain type)?
I have a 52 plate YRV with 33K miles.Up untill now the engine has been sweet as a nut, almost silent on tickover. Then suddenly a light rattle started. It sounds like the timing chain (if it has a chain and not a belt)i've just ordered the manual to see what is in there.
Anyone had experiance of this problem?
Driving home tonight the roads were quiet so I thought I would have a little fun and took a few small roundabouts at speed, pulling a bit of G. All well and good, but twice my Sirion started making a beeping sound while I was cornering hard.
Anyone experienced this, what is it, and is it anything to worry about?
