got the fourtrack back from the garage he said they have replaced worn parts in gearbox ie sliprings on second and third and relaced a bearing I payed for a comp clutch while the box was off so only paid for parts and they said they sorted the freewheel hubs is there a quick way of testing the freewheel hubs
i have been reading through the forum and on the internet and it would seem that there is a few people suffering over heating on the sportrak.has anyone changed the viscous fan for an electric fan ether run from a switch in the cab or from a temperature sender unit.any idea's can it be done has it been done?????????????
hellooooooo to all on this site.I bought myself a '91 sportrak elxi 2 weeks ago and its my 1st ever 4x4 lol. A week after i got it the headgasket went pop I found this site through google and its been an absolute goldmine of information in helping me to rectify my problem and do the head gasket myself All is fine with my sporty now and i love it, its a brilliant little toy and i intend keeping it for a long time to come now.
My brother in law is the now proud owner of an F78 V reg TDX model. I have noticed it doesnt have central locking, he was told from the garage he bought it from that it doesnt have it? I find this hard to believe as my m reg has c/l which is the same model:?
I suspect that it does have it but something needs repairing/replacing. Any advise info is greatly appreciated.

i have a daihatsu sportrak exi and i am wondering wear i could find for a reasonable price the cloks that sit in the middle of the dash because the are addaptors are fitted already so i was wondering were i couyld pik up a nice cheap set that work would be nice??? cheers:)
I have a 1997 Sportrack, bought new, which now has 200k on the clock. All 4 cylinders now not surprisingly not always coming to the party! How easy / sensible is it to re-engine? Any leads? Derbyshire.
Pre-MOT check has identified that my 1997 Fourtrak TDX will need some new bushings for the steering idler. I've found serveral supliers for a steering idler complete but not for the bushings alone.
