Hi there. Has anybody got a heater motor for sale. I tried to get one earlier in the year but the 'Fourtrak Fan' just cashed the cheque but did'nt send the motor.
cheers
Picked up the Sportrak toady and drove it home through London Rush Hour-always the best way to acclimatise to a new car!
Anyway, it transpires that the steering lock on these things is truly awful which leads to a massive turning circle compared to what I'm used to. This lead to some interesting moments when manouvering..
Are they all like this then?
ALso mine steams up on the windows a lot. Are they reknowned for this or is it just a case of a leak (not apparent) or somehow having got damp inside?
Hi! Ok First I am new and a girl. Secondly I don't own a Diahatsu *ducks* My daddy does. And I have just discovered that Haynes don't do a manual *grumble grumble*
So for Xmas, I would realy like to get my dad a copy of the Manual. He has the little service book thingy and I saw you have the Manual on CD. But my dad doesn't do these new fangled computery thingies.
im lookig to byself anohter sportrak after my old one died and had to be sold on, i have seen an L reg one with electric everything in very tidy condition for 1400 from a second hand car dealership. on a closer look i noticed rust patches on what seems like odd places: the fuel cap, under the back door handle and behind the number plate. there is nothing around the wheel arches which is where my old one went very rusty. is this normal rust places and is it likely to spread a lot? is there anything else i should be looking out for?
when in 4wd does both the lever for 4l and the button on the dash have to be engaged or can you keep the lever in 2h and just have the button 4h pushed in for 4wd cheers
Hi everyone. Unfortunately I am not the proud owner of a fourtrak anymore because some toe-rag nicked it the other night. 2.8 non turbo fourtrak reg - E941XSM. Light blue with orange stripe. Bull bar on front(where else?) and checker plate bumpers at the back. Short wheelbase and white wheels. Vented discs on front(not standard)and checker plate boot floor. Anyone who can find it for me I will buy beer for all bloody night and be forever in their debt. OK it was a bit rough, but it was MINE and I loved it. Not worth claiming on insurance and losing NCB with a £250 excess.
The clutch mechanism on my 1600 elxi has given up. It is not the cable. I am in the process of removing the gearbox and transfer box to have a look. Has anyone got any experience of this operation?
Regards
Hi all,
the rear suspension on my 1986 2 litre 3Y petrol F70 Rocky is really bumpy. Is this likely to be the leaf springs (or bushes) or more likely the shock absorbers? Back end feels almost solid over pot holes etc.
Also is it ok to use low ratio gearbox in 2wd. If it is it would be handy - as I,ve got two ton of horse trailer to tow and some of the hills round here (Dorset) are steep. The 2 litre motor seems a bit overwhelmed by the load. Handy to have some emergency gears.............!Probably going to have to move up to a 2.8 td if not.
Hi everyone, I have noticed in the last few weeks that my fourtrak seems a bit thirsty. I know this is most probably down to the 31/10.5/15 tyres but I wondered if its worth replacing the sensor under the thermostat housing that connects to the injector pump,(choke?), as mine is an '85 but with the cylinder head of a '95, could it be the wrong sensor? Or maybe winding the pump down to use less fuel? Its getting to the point where I feel like crying in the petrol station! As i`m a student it's not very practical any more but i wouldn't give up the fourtrak for the world.
Hi all!
I've just joined so be gentle with me!!
I think I've just persuaded the boss we should have a 4x4.
I'm very tempted with a fourtrak, this is going to have to be our main transport as well as towing a small car trailer, and serve as shooting transport. It will spend the majority of the time on road with an annual mileage of 6k.but have to cope with muddy farm tracks
Looking at a budget of about £5k.
