I have a problem with my Sportrak. It is very very reluctant to start, eventually chiming in on one or two cylinders. When it eventually runs, it runs well for the first 5 or six miles, then starts missing/stalling etc. I have changed plugs, leads, distributor cap and rotor arm, and lastly the coil, all to no avail. I have a 89 1.6EL, carburettor etc.
It has run without a problem for the last 4 years, but I'm getting desperate.

After visting some friends I came across an L reg 2.8TD Independant with a missing engine forsale, fingers crossed I think I can get her for around the £350 mark, it has leather and wooden trim etc, body looks to be in pretty good condition but I havent been underneath the vehicle yet, I am also assuming the present owner still has the blown engine and anc. parts.
hi all, i have a Four track H reg, with a bull bar which i guess doesnt help the headlamp beam at all, the headlights are crap, as far as i can see i have halogen bulbs, 60/55w which i believe is as bright as i can get, is there anything i can do to make to lights any brighter ?.
I have some driving lights i can put on the Bull Bar, but this wont help the Dipped Beam at all.
Or perhaps removing the bull bar will make enough difference, does anyone know , please.
I had my rocky tested today and it failed badly. I was told that a "Dragline" was worn and had to be replaced. Also that my power steering was not working right. I have never heard of a "dragline" so I don't know what to look for. My power steering is very jumpy and the pump growls. Did anybody else have these problems?, where is this "dragline" and what does it do?

Hi. I have got a Daihatsu Fourtrak year 2000 and have had to had the door painted over someone put a dent in it. I have had the paint done and all I need is the 'FOURTRAK' sticker that runs along the door. I went into my local dealer and was amazed to find out they wanted £57+vat for it as you can only buy them in packs. I was therfore wondering if anyone has got a spare sticker for a Fourtrak they want to sell me. If you do please let me know. Hello fello Byway drivers - Have had a noisy transfer box for a few weeks now - guess I know this because of the vibrations through the 4H 4L selector lever. (not to mention the ones in my head!)
Luckily just pulled into my friends drive and it finally went bang!!!! No forward or reverse drive to the proshafts. Gearbox seems fine but the transfer box selection seems very stiff and oil leaking out of transfer proshaft flange!
I am about to have the underside of my Fourtrak Waxoyled (it lives outdoors and there is rust down there). What can I remove to get better access? I'm thinking of the plastic wheel arch liners if that's not too much of a fuss. Any advice please?
anyone tried there sporty off road? I heard they where good untill I bought one, now everyone says I should of got a vit.
not swapped the tyres yet so not ben off road
could someone tell me what the max legal towing weight for an import 1986 rocky (fourtrak) is please. Nothing on the reg. sheet.........gross vehicle weight is 1680 kg. 85% of this would be 1428 kg so does that mean just under 1.5 tonne?!
