I have joined the daihatsu club, but have not yet got one, my intentions are honourable and will get one come hell or high water, what I need to know in the mean-time is what are they like on juice (petrol)
are they dear on insurance, I don't intend to do a lot of off-roading, you could say I have been smitten by the fourtrax, and will not rest till Iam behind the wheel, but can find little or no information about them, apart from the good article this club wrote about the history, I want information and as much as I can get to keep me going until I get my own trax, can anyone help. robbo
hi ,since selling my faithful 89 rocky on sunday ive been to see a 94 tdx independant 90,000mls,managed to get price down to £1600 but maybe to easy.think ive checked everything, its needing 2 tyres and the back box replaced.needing a good service too, when i asked when the cam belt was changed he replyed it doesn't have one so i need to really check everything, checked gearbox by using 2nd gear as brake,it brakes smooth and even.shocks and springs seem ok,same with steering.chasis has no visible cracks or welds.whats the best way to check the turbo and is there anything else i should check going back to see it 2morow if its still there.maybe i'm being too cautious.any help would i'd be very grateful.
Hi all my daughter has eventually plucked up courage to get a FourTrack to tow a horse trailer !!!, it looks as if i am the one who will have to help to Maintain it.
I see there is a Manual available for £15 from the boss man here named LURCH, i guess the manual is more for taking the engine to bits etc. all i need to know for starters, is where to look to check the various oil levels in the various axles and gearboxes etc.
Hello ~ I've recently bought a Dai-Sportrack (lovingly named 'Dotty') who came with a hard and soft top. Didn't think to ask about the parts for the soft top, until the weather got better, and I realised I didn't have any parts! I am now stuck with a soft top I can't use as I have none of the extras (trim, etc, etc). I have been in touch with a couple of dealers (in Stourbridge and Wem, Shropshire) who look at me with utter bemusement and don't really want to help me. I know there are lots of bits needed but I just need some help/advice. Anyone help?! Much appreciated!
Newbee here. Just bought a Daihatsu Feroza which is proving to be a great little car. Actually this is my first non Rotary powered car since I had Daihatsu Charade F2! (was an Aussie limited edition thingie).
Anyhow, I have been looking for a list of all the Daihatsu 4wd's which points out the specs of each car. Is there such a thing?
Have bought a fourtrak (which am having much towing fun with) but the manual is missing. This is not helpful when I'm trying to find out which manual I need to get for it! It's a T reg (1999) Turbo Diesel Independent (Manual). Can someone please tell me exactly which 'F' category this falls into?
I am going to change the front discs on my 91 F75 and was wondering if I am going to need any special tools etc. also is there anything I must be aware of when doing the job?
regards
Tich
Unfortunately, unlike many users of these forums I have no mechanical expertise whatsoever. Could any kind soul recommend somewhere to take my F85 for servicing in the Cheshire or general North West area? An indication of the costs likely for a full service would be useful if possible....
Firstly where can I source some paint touch up sticks for my sporty. The colour is 045 I believe it is called Ivory White. My local Daihatsu agent is having trouble sourcing this, although it dosn't show as discontinued, it hasn't arrived!
Secondly it would be useful to know where the revs should be to get firstly the best torque and secondly power. It feels as if it should be around 3000 RPM but I haven't tried above 4000 because it begins to sound unhappy!
