Finally!

Forum:

I know it's not such a big deal to most,
but i would like to give some feedback about one of my probs with a sporty(dodgy rad, leaking fuel pipes......),i finally managed to buy a new rad cap priced 3.49 the discount supplier let me have it for 3.00,it just goes to show you must never give up searching.I bought it from a local accessory car parts shop,so to all you out there just keep asking and searching for the bits you need, you never know where they may turn up!

Clutch swap

Forum:

One of the local Landie men has bought a 1994 2.8 TD Fourtrak for a song but it needs tidying and a new clutch, which I've been offered the chance of doing. I've done the Sportrak which was straightforward enough but a bit of a maul.
I've had a grub around underneath and it all seems fairly familiar but I was wondering If anyone here has done one and could tell me if there are any nasty surprises to watch out for doing this, I.E if the box is a lot heavier and will need a flat jack?

Sporty rear drums...

Forum:

Just a quick note to say thanks for the advice on removing siezed rear drums. They - finally - came free after a few hours prizing on each side! I have refitted with loads of copperslip around the centre. I now have decent brakes!

I'll post a few pic's of the old wagon before too long.

Thanks again,

Nathan

welding to floor pan

Forum:

hi, having now removed all the seats and carpets on my 91 2.8 fourtrak, i have found quite a lot more rust that needs to be cut out and welded, than i first thought, what is the correct way to do it for the mot,
can i weld the floor from the top or bottom or do i have to plate both the top and bottom,

many thanks,

chrisac.
