Hello All,
I'm getting disenchanted with biking through winter and I like 4WD's so.......
I am now the proud owner of a 1991 sportrak EL EFi, which so far I like very much.
(even with its bus like acceleration & spongey no-feedback brakes)
I only have the owners manual that comes with the car and am not too sure how the four wheel drive works!! ( I know I know )
as far as I can gather you stop and select 4WD then move off slowly to engage the hubs.
Hi,
have recently accquired a 93 Sportrack ELXi (efi)with 116k which has about 70% service history. It needs brake discs replacing and I want to do the timing belt asap.
Seems sensible to me to do a full top to bottom belts and braces job as we intend to keep the car for a long time.
I presume that the diffs need the oils done, what oil is best for them?
Likewise, whats the best advice with gearbox and transfer box lubricants?
Todays bad weather and flooded roads has again highlighted a problem that I find quite alarming. If I drive through any standing water at less than walking pace, the water is thrown over the windscreen, immediately reducing visibility, even with the wipers on fast. Is this typical of the Fourtrak and has anyone else experienced this problem or found any way of reducing it
sportack roadtest results . I have just bought a sportrak and I need information on road test results as daihatsu seems to be an endangered species in most 4x4 magazines which is really annoying. It is really great to have found this website.
Garen, doog here. Posted you a reply to your inbox. Can you get any more specific as to where the noise is coming from?, when it happens (terrain, speed etc)?
please can anybody help

my sportrak (EL) is an 89(g)reg when i start her up she starts up straight away no problem, however when i start to drive her she sounds sluggish and lacks power, i have to try to keep the revs up until she worms up.How does the automatic choke work on her cannot see a manual one anywhere, the revs after starting her only goes up to 900rpm to 1000rpm so im thinking the auto choke cannot be working because the normal revs on tickover surpose to be 900rpm am i right? thanks for the comments from my last posting about the oil leak .
